INTERESTING AND DYNAMIC MOTION OF TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION COURSE ORGANISED BY THE PPTA COMES TO AN END FOR THE YEAR ENDING

Information note prepared by the Governing Board of the PPTA.

the first cycle of courses organized by the PPTA, which included five interesting courses, successfully complete this year thanks to the generous participation of partners responsible for the courses and the vibrant and enthusiastic assistance of graduates translation and interpretation courses in universities and colleges, members of the Association of Translators in Peru, partners and other professionals.

The first experience took place in May with the course "Introduction to technical note-taking in consecutive interpreting" , dictated by our partner Luisa Pastore Alinante Fernandez-Baca, sworn public translator and former president of the Board of our association, for four hours on Saturdays.

Given the interest in this first year, it was decided to arrange for the month of June during "drafting guidelines to facilitate the edge of l translator" , which was dictated by another of our partners, Maria La Hoz Valley.

Since the number of attendees at this second course grew exponentially in relation to the first, third course was scheduled for the month of July. This was a specialized course on legal translation was called "The functional translation of s general and special powers under d corporate law" and was in charge of the current President of the Board of the Association Professional Translators in Peru, Dr. Maria Rosario Ocampo Cayo. The number of participants reached was about 40 people, mostly members of the Translators Association of Peru.

The next meeting was organized by the ongoing PPTA specialized legal translation called "Main problems in the translation directly tion and inverse of contracts ", which was developed during the month of September by two Board members: Maria Rosario Ocampo Luz Alva Cayo and Belinda Choy. This time the number of attendees also lined the 40 people, including collegiate and not registered.

The PPTA I closed the cycle of courses under the auspices of a special course on legal translation called "Aspe cts general civil procedural law and its functional translation" , whose practical development was led by Dr. Mary Cayo Rosario Ocampo. The head of the theoretical was Maquilon Dr. Teresa Elizabeth Acevedo, a lawyer of great career, former judge, lecturer and panelist on professional proficiency exams at the Faculty of Law at the University of Lima, and former professor of the course in Procedural Law at the Faculty of Law at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. This time the turnout was similar to previous courses.

Given the limited supply of specialized courses in translation at the national level and the great welcome they have received the PPTA courses during the past year, for the coming year we hope to organize a larger number of specialized courses in translation for which will be held strategic agreements with various institutions. We take

this opportunity to thank once again all members of the Association of Translators in Peru, public sworn translators, members of the PPTA and translators in general for their unconditional participation and keen interest, the same that will allow the success achieved during the year 2009 could be repeated next year.
